Hello!  Hope you all are doing well.  We have had a great 2nd week here.  Doing lots of territory and we are so excited because we both have some potential return visits!  Finally talked to a few people so can't wait to return on them after the campaign.  Lots of support in the ministry so makes it fun.

The weather has not been cooperating like we had wanted.  People here keep saying that this is not normal so we must have brought our Oregon weather - rain and thunderstorms!  Every once in awhile we get a nice sunny blue sky break.  It's supposed to lighten up here soon so looking forward to that.

We had a visiting speaking from an area near Perpignan just next to the border of Spain.  Him and his wife moved from England to help out an English group of only 7 (yes 07).  They are retired and wanted to help.  They are very lovely people.  We are planning to go and visit them to go in the ministry and of course since we will be so close, we have to go to Spain!  :-)  There are so many stories of ones that left their comfortable life and moved where the need was great.  It truly is amazing.  We can all help out even if we just do more where we are now!  I loved the WT study about the pure language - no matter where we are - we are unified.

Pictures show our days in the ministry, including a morning doing phone territory.  And pics of a nice get together tonight at a family's in the hall and had a blast!  Great food, drinks and entertainment.  They did karaoke, played music and sang and danced.  The French really know how to have a great time (not that we don't) but it was great that 75% of the congregation was there.  Good times...

Pictures also of the Mediterranean sea at Palavas.  We finally got out to see it this past week. And it was a perfect day!  Only about 20 minutes from the city.  Absolutely magnificent!  Chris loved it so much he wants us to find a holiday flat there.  During the winter, it is reasonably priced until May and then the price quadruples for the summer.  So if you come to visit, you will awaken to this beautiful sea here.  One of the couples in the hall (that are from England) live there too and they took us around for the day and we explored and fall in love.  Great little village with lots to do.

This coming week will be very busy for us.  Hall has host week with the C.O. so will be out everyday and then this weekend we go to Marigane near Marseille for the special one day assembly.  Can't wait to meet more brothers and sisters.  It will be small in comparison to ours back home.  Only about 200 since they just split the circuit.  I will take lots of pics and post next week.

Well it's late here and going in the field tomorrow so will talk to y'all later.  Miss you all and Aimez-vous!

  1. That WAS a fantastic watchtower! It was nice to be reminded that the only reason we have so many languages was to stop the false worship; can't wait till we all speak one language again so we can express and understand our entire brotherhood perfectly! The service looks amazing, and your beaming faces say it all!

Josh just graduated today, and there were 300-something in attendance. The missionary spirit was alive! And it makes so happy to see what you guys are doing! Bon Travail!

This blog is so wonderful, thanks for taking us through your week and please send our love to the beautiful brothers and sisters there. Salut!

  3. This is such a lovely way to keep in touch. The pictures are great and everyone looks so happy. The WT was truly wonderful last Sunday and you and Chris get to appreciate the 'pure language' first hand. I am so happy for you both. Can't wait to see the next installment.
