This week we have a new visitor - Lillian just arrived on Monday afternoon! We have been showing her all the sights that Montpellier has to offer. Wednesday was her first day out in the ministry with us. And it was a great day. We were doing door to door but stopped many English speaking people on the street and had some great conversations. It was truly a blessing. Lillian and June net a nice young couple from Africa. They ended up placing a BT book and got the young mans' number. His girlfriend (that was with him) said she already received a BT book from someone. That would be great if they both end up studying! I went back to a store where I met this man from West Togo, Africa. But he doesn't work there anymore. The owner gave me his number to contact him. I started to talk to him about the conditions on earth since he has visited so many places and he specifically expressed that humans cannot fix the problems on earth. Yonette (who was with me) agreed and read him Jer 10:23. He believes in God but not sure about the Bible. We suggested that he have his own personal bible study and he said he was interested and we made an appointment to return. So Chris and I came back on Saturday. We left him the BT in french since that his is mother tongue. He originally said he wanted to learn in English but after talking to him he agreed to have someone that speaks French to call back on him. He made a donation and said he would have the book read in the next week before someone returns.
Chris' bible study brought a friend that also had some questions to the study. His bible study also came to the meeting this week. He's been wanting to study in English even though it's been a challenge since he is from Cameroon and his mother tongue is French. So he stayed for bookstudy in English but Chris had him go over to the French meeting just across the hall for the remainder of the meeting. Afterwards I think he realized how much more he could learn by studying with someone French. So he will be turned over so he can progress faster.
Thursday we were in a new part of our territory and the special pioneer (SP) couple in our hall met an American man that has lived in France for 20 years. Very nice man and wants them to come back to call on him. And this SP couple have a good eye for finding english speaking. They noticed an english car (since steering wheel was on other side) so we knocked on a door and asked a neighbor if someone english lives close by. He showed us where. Nobody home but they will try agin - so much going on in the territory here!
Friday we took Lillian to Sete for the minstry. Unfortunately we didn't met anyone there but a beautiful city to visit. It reminds me a little of Venice with the bridges and water in the middle of the city.
Saturday (yes - not Sunday) Chris gave a talk in Narbonne - a city about 1 hour south of Montpellier. They have a small english group of about 15 there. Since they only have english speakers once a month, there were many visitors - about 45 total in attendance. Such a nice warm group. We hope to come down and do ministry with them soon.
Lillian has been wanting to go to Italy, so Saturday night after the talk, we flew to Rome and then on Wednesday morning we fly to Venice for a couple days. The sunny weather from Montpellier followed us here and it has been great. Hope you enjoy the pics and the video below. Lots to see this week so we will post all the pictures this week. Have a great week.
Love you. Ciao!
